Am I a Candidate ?

Who should have the EBT heartscan?

  • If you are self-referred and using it as a screen. HeartScan suggests middle-aged adults (men 35-65, women 40-70) with or without risk factors (smoking, elevated cholesterol, etc.)
  • If you are visiting upon referral by a physician
    • To assist in the diagnosis of coronary heart disease
    • To help rule out obstructive coronary disease in a patient with symptoms like chest pain
    • To help determine the need or aggressiveness of cholesterol lowering drugs or other risk reduction therapy

How does the EBT test help me specifically? Click on what is applicable to you to find out.

I have:

High cholesterol
High blood pressure
Smoking history
Family history of early coronary heart disease
Diabetes
Obesity
No risk factors other than middle age (Male over 35, Female over 40)
Special Circumstances: Age extremes, past history of vascular disease, chest symptoms

Take the NCEP Quiz to see where you rate.

Did you know that 25 % of Coloradoans are at extraordinary high risk and definitely need their LDL (bad cholesterol) below 100. Get a Heartscan to know for sure.
